We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with great communication skills and versed in n8n (or make.com). In this role, you will design and implement solutions that eliminate manual work, improve efficiency, and support our sustainability-focused mission. Using low-code automation tools and scripting, you will tackle tasks like automating customer support ticket responses, processing data from Excel/CSV files, and generating reports from PDFs. By leveraging platforms like n8n or Make.com alongside LLMs (Large Language Models) and APIs, you will help create smarter, faster processes that free our teams to focus on high-value work. Acting as a problem-solver and integrator, you will work closely with various departments to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions that support our vision of a waste-free future.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaboration & Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders in different business units to analyze their workflows, gather requirements, and identify opportunities for automation that will reduce manual effort and errors.
- Design & Development of Workflows: Create, build, and maintain automated workflows using tools like n8n or Make.com to streamline business processes (e.g. handling support tickets, data entry, reporting).
- API Integration: Connect various systems via REST APIs and webhooks – for example, integrating platforms such as Zendesk, Baserow, or internal databases – to enable seamless data flow and process automation.
- AI-Powered Automation: Leverage Large Language Models (OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Llama, etc.) by crafting effective prompts to automate text-heavy tasks like answering common customer inquiries, extracting information from PDFs, or summarizing documents
- Reliability & Optimization: Implement robust error-handling, monitoring, and logging for all automations to ensure reliability. Continuously monitor workflow performance and optimize processes for speed and scalability, troubleshooting issues and refining solutions as needed.
- Documentation: Document all automated workflows and processes, maintaining clear guides and technical documentation so that solutions are maintainable and knowledge is shared across the team.
Bonus skills (Nice to have)
- Experience with Microsoft tools like Power Automate and understanding when to use them in combination with our main platforms.
- Familiarity with basic SQL and data pipeline or ETL concepts for more advanced data manipulation and transfer between systems.
- Knowledge of script automation for office tools (e.g., writing Excel macros or using Python scripts to process CSV/PDF files).
- Version Control: Comfort with version control systems (Git) and agile workflows for managing automation projects, as well as basic understanding of cloud services or Linux environments.
- Background in or passion for sustainability tech or waste management sector – aligning with our mission of a waste-free future.
